In the wake of the breaking news that informed the world that baseball star Fernando Tatis Jr. had been suspended for 80 games for PED use, one would think his cards – and interest in his cards – would fall to the floor. But, given his relatively young age and numbers to this point, it seems as if the opposite is happening, with perhaps more interest than ever.
And even when you know just how many rookie cards of a certain player are out there, it’s hard to keep track what which is what, which are the best and most valuable, etc.
So while this post is mostly dedicated to the different card prices in order to give you a better idea where each of Tatis’ cards falls on the scale from high to low end, it also serves to show you just how many options exist.
In terms of what’s listed below, these prices are the lowest available “buy it now” options on eBay as of August 2022. Of course, things can change, and quickly. But relative to each other, the differences between card brands and values should remain relatively constant.
These are also raw prices, and for base cards unless otherwise noted as refractors. I might add columns for the different slabbed cards, as in PSA 10 gem mint, etc. but time will tell.

Chrome is usually higher-priced than paper base.
Refractors are usually higher-priced than chrome base.
Topps RCs are usually higher-priced than Bowman.
Topps Base RCs are usually higher than Update Debuts and Complete Set Variations.
Last, if we are talking rookie cards, we still need to include a mention of 1st Bowman and 1st Bowman Chrome cards, even though they aren’t technically rookie cards.
In terms of prices, this what I’m seeing as of late for the lowest available “buy it now” option on eBay:
