About The Card

What do you get when you combine one of Topps' greatest card designs with some of the best uniforms from the 70s (along with one of the best athletes in professional sports, let alone baseball players).

That's right, Winfield was being drafted by the ABA' Stars, NBA's Hawks, NFL's Vikings, and of course, MLB's Padres, as pictured here.

Winfield headlines the 1974 Topps set, which had to be the design inspiration for the similar 1980 Topps (which features one of my favorite and best Nolan Ryan cards).

A few recent PSA copies sold for between $1K-$2K! View more of the most valuable Dave Winfield baseball cards.

"Easily among the rarest and key Hall of Fame rookies from the 1970s, this is a card that you don"t see. The Winfield rookie from "74, it"s not understating Winfield as a brand, he"s an important figure. ... His rookie card, the "74 Topps, it does not surface in high grades. There"s just a litany of problems, most notably in centering and print. ... These are museum pieces now."
