About The Card
Have you noticed the different phases that "rookie cards" have gone through and the different forms of the rookie card logo? First there were "future stars" and today we have the "RC" shield.
But in between, as a major piece of the junk wax era, we had the "draft pick." Chipper Jones, Frank Thomas, Derek Jeter, and other stars who came up in the early 90s all have them.
In fact, in addition to this 1991 Topps Chipper Jones Draft Pick card, there is the 1991 Score Draft Pick card. Of course, with Topps being Topps, this is usually the more coveted of the two.
To compare, actually—a PSA 10 Chipper Jones Topps Draft Pick can sell for between $80-$100 while the Score is valued about half of that.

Quote"Just a truly iconic and altogether extremely important offering. The Chipper Jones brand, in general, is one of the more undertouted and potentially exciting upside brands that I think exists in our market today. ... So, this being his very important Desert Shield Parallel, it"s thought that they only made about 500 of these, or 500 sets that were produced and shipped overseas during the war. They all have this very notable foil stamp on them to designate them from the standard Topps issue."Author
