From a hot start to a short blip, and now full steam ahead to what should be MVP considerations, Brock Purdy has catapulted himself from “Mr. Irrelevant” to what looks like the next great quarterback in a long list of 49ers’ QBs.
With the territory comes a ton of rookie cards, many of which have landed themselves on the list of football’s hottest cards for pretty much the whole season. And given that I’ve seen these cards be sold by the hundreds every single week, I’d think many of you would take an interest.
In total, these are the top 25 Brock Purdy cards from Panini (based on number of sales over the last 180 days as reported by Market Movers)

If you’re in the market for a Brock Purdy rookie card, here are some things to know.
Prizm is King
While sales volume is one thing, average sales value is another. Of all the pure base cards, Purdy’s 2022 Prizm Base #353 has one of the highest average sales values over the 180-day span ($27.03). The only card that has been valued higher is from Chronicles, though, is the Prizm Black entry from Chronicles ($35.02), which let’s face it, many treat more as a Prizm card than it does a Chronicles…
Chronicles is a Lot
Continuing from above, there are 8 Chronicles base cards on this top 25 list! Here are the values for each:
- Brock Purdy 2022 Chronicles #PB-8 Prizm Black Raw, $35.02
- Brock Purdy 2022 Chronicles #D-2 Dynagon Raw, $6.94
- Brock Purdy 2022 Chronicles #MAG-27 Magnitude Raw, $5.93
- Brock Purdy 2022 Chronicles #CVR-8 Clear Vision Raw, $5.92
- Brock Purdy 2022 Chronicles #PH-36 Photogenic Raw, $4.46
- Brock Purdy 2022 Chronicles #213 Luminance Update Raw, $4.29
- Brock Purdy 2022 Chronicles #PA-19 Panini Raw, $3.85
- Brock Purdy 2022 Chronicles #41 Base Raw, $3.67
As you can see, Prizm Black trounces any other entry.
With so many to choose from, I’ll offer my 49er-collector opinion: Photogenic is, well, an awesome photo, but I personally love the red and white combo of base #41.
Value is Tied to Play
Well, at least that’s what you typically see when a rookie rises to prominence. Up and up until a bad game, and then back down to earth. I mean, the average sales price on October 14th was over $60, which just doesn’t seem sustainable for any base card, Prizm or not.
Where things get interesting is when a player bounces back. Their cards don’t usually reach the prvious peak, but if success is sustained, you should see some bounce back (which is already happening on the far end of the graph). Especially with the 49ers’ next game coming on the national stage on Thangsiving, a nice game could boost Purdy Panini rookie card value.
