A list with everything you’d expect, rlight? Jordan, Lebron, Curry, and others in the running for greatest players of all time. These aren’t just a bunch of cool basketball cards…they are some of the top 100 most valuable sports cards period.
With a mix of vintage (Bill Russell and Pistol Pete) and new, including the much talked about Logoman cards and dominated by graded cards, it’s a list that is tough to argue (though, I’m sure some would love to debate the multi-million dollar Luka sale at the top of the list).

When you expand the list to the top 100 cards sold, you’ll see a lot of the same. In fact, the 100th card down is a Kobe Bryant 1996 Topps Finest #74 Bronze Refractor (with Coating) PSA 10 that sold for $60K in April of 2023.

So what does all of this list mean for you? Well, if you’re someone who simply likes to look top selling basketball cards for knoweldge sake, then there you have it.
But if you’re someone either gettin back into cards or deeper into cards, and have either acquired a collection or are looking to grow your own, these numbers might be a bit intimidating. I mean, 100 cards in and we are still in the $60K range? Yikes.
As mentioned, this is all cards, most notably graded and raw, though, it’s going to be graded cards that will take over most spots on the list.
So what if we looked at raw and ungraded cards? Well, a little better. Here are the top 10:

Much different feel, right? Sure there is still King James, Kobe, and Curry. But Shaq at number one (Green Kaboom), and a bunch of young names like Franz Wagner and Wembanyama. Not to mention that if you’re a casual fan, it might be surprising to see Caleb Martin’s logoman weighing in at #5 on the list (Martin was a force in propelling the Heat to the finals last season, so a well-timed sale).
The 100th card on this list below is a Michael Jordan 2003 Exquisite Collection #3 Base /225 that sold for $2.35K in March of 2023, which is still above most people’s budgets. (Hang with me, I have one more slice of data that is for the everyday collector):
